THE advance party of the Tribu Sinanduloy of Tangub City, Misamis Occidental arrived in Cebu City yesterday bringing with them huge steel props and a promise of something new in the contingent’s performance this Sunday.
“Everything is new, the performance will be new. We have new props, new costumes, and new choreography. Even the entire flow is new,†said Romulo Kaamiño, chief props designer of Tribu Sinanduloy.
Preparation
“Sa una mga panels ra to. Karun, mas bugat gyud ang atong mga props (We have bigger props this year),†said Kaamiño.
The group’s performance this Sunday will also feature more flowers and colors.
After arriving yesterday morning, Tribu Sinanduloy’s construction team immediately sat down to work on their props.
The props are detachable to make it easier for the team to carry them on board.
The props will include a 12-foot high bridge and 10-foot riser where dancers will perform, Kaamiño said.
Preparation for Tribu Sinanduloy’s performance started last October. The props were completed in two months’ time. The advance team is now doing the finishing touches and expects to have everything ready by Friday, Kaamiño said.
He said the job is tiring, but that it’s all worth it.
