Sto. Niño solemn procession

Thousands of devotees joined Saturday’s solemn procession of the Sto. Niño. The procession is the religious aspect of the week-long celebration of the feast of the Sr. Sto. Niño, considered for a long time as Cebu’s patron saint.

The procession started at the Basilica del Sto. Niño at 2 p.m. It passed by the streets of Plaridel, Magallanes, Borromeo, Leon Kilat, P. del Rosario, Junquera, Colon, Mabini, P. Burgos, and back to the basilica for a solemn mass, which was officiated by Cebu Archbishop Cardinal Ricardo Vidal.

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña led the city delegation that joined the procession. Religious communities and groups were also represented. There were also local and foreign tourists.
